Hello and welcome to Flame Wars!
I think one of the first questions that will come up is "what the heck is this all about?" Hopefully this can answer those questions and get us all on the same page.

But first, a quick word about why. I think almost all forums I have ever visited or run have always suffered from members who just love to flame others (sometimes specific people or just anyone who will pay attention)... Sometimes great and trusted members also have a bad day and want to vent it out. This usually throws other normal conversations way off track and leads to all sorts of problems. Would people behave this way and vent off on their friends this way? Hopefully not. Frankly, you need new friends if they do.

Flame Wars aims to provide a place to vent all you like. This is the place to come in and be as much of an #$&!* as you want to be. Lookin' for a fight? Come in and find others who want the same. Don't want to be picked on? Stay out of this area.

There are two catches to Flame Wars though...
First, since we have an area to be a jerk it is expected that you keep it out of the rest of nonTT. Find others who want the same... Leave others outside of this area alone and let the conversations flow uninterrupted. Got it?

The second catch? This one is fun. All posts in this area will not show who posted it. The user name and signatures of the poster are not displayed (though posts may show up in searches of a user). Not anonymous enough for your flavor of forum flaming? There is also a little check box when you are composing a new post that lets you choose to post anonymously. These anonymous posts keep it almost totally anonymous* for anyone to know who posted it.

The reasons for Flame Wars not showing who posted is simple... You can feel a little braver knowing you aren't totally exposing yourself. But it also exposes you to having to think twice before you flame. What if you flame somebody solid... Then find out that you just flamed your best friend or your boyfriend. Or, what if you decide to defend somebody and find out it happens to be one of your least favorite people on the site? Keeps it interesting. Hopefully it makes you think twice. At the very least, it gives people a place to be a jerk if you want to be.

* - Almost anonymous? Yup. Moderators and admins can still do some searching to find out who originally posted. However, this will only be used on extreme cases. Just know, it is there.
