This is not really the wussification of Children... this is just plain, embaressing, local government... and I'm ashamed to say it's in England

GONE are the days when troublemakers got detention at school.
Now naughty kids in Lambeth (South London) are being offered foot massages to help improve their behaviour - and it's costing tax payers £90,000.

From next year, pupils up to the age of 13 will be "treated" to reflexology in the hope it will curb aggression.

Locals have expressed outrage at Lambeth council for handing out the expensive treatments when there is no medical proof that it works.

But the council is refusing to apologise for the 'innovative' idea, claiming "traditional therapies" could be the way forward.

A spokesperson from the TaxPayers' Alliance said the scheme sent out a "bad message" and that it is simply a waste of money.

She said: "Rewarding bad behaviour with luxuries sends out a very bad message, both to pupils who now have no incentive to behave well, and to taxpayers struggling in the credit crunch who see yet more of their money being thrown down the drain."

The company that plans on providing the treatments claims reflexology can "calm aggressive feelings, improve listening skills, concentration and focus".

Councillor Paul McGlone, the cabinet member in charge of children and young people, said this is simply a trial run.

First thought? Which teacher do I have to misbehave with to get my foot massage?!

What happened to the good old days of inflicting pain and public embarrassment as a tool to curb misbehaving?! I'm thinking I need to present this story to my work managers. Maybe there is some study that says massages increase work time efficiency (either that or they'll just cut off my YouTube access like Zoe).

o.O I think the paddles worked better.
God kids sit on their asses all day, why should they get foot massages?
Give the massages to the teachers who have to stand on their feet all day teaching the little bastards.

Knowing how luck would be, that sexual embarassment thing might backfire since I'm sure there's a select few in every elementary school class that are closet streakers/strippers lol.

Some might do it to get a kick out of it or for the thrill...and then imagine how'd they turn out then XD!!

Need to add more to said punishments...Like make the kids wear "I'm a big baby and I need spankings from mommy because I'm an awful child" during recesses or during certain times in class (or longer if the kid persists) and after a few strikes kid gets transfered for a week to some boot camp for out of control children who get worse humiliation over there.
