Carjacker Beat With Frozen Turkey

HAAAAAHAHAHA oh man, I couldn't help but laugh at this! On one hand I try to be compassionate, on the other, the humorous mental images crack me up.

Man hit with frozen turkey suspect in two carjackings

Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — Garner police say that a carjacking suspect whom bystanders hit with a frozen turkey in a grocery store parking lot Saturday was involved in a carjacking and robbery at the same intersection a day earlier.

Fred Louis Ervin, 30, is accused of stealing cash from a BP gas station at Ten-Ten Road and U.S. Highway 401 in Garner and then punching a woman and stealing her car from a nearby Harris Teeter Sunday morning.

"It's unusual to say the least," Fuquay-Varina Police Chief Larry Smith said. "I don't know in my 30-year career I've heard of someone getting in a fight with a frozen turkey involved."

Investigators say that Ervin struck at a McDonald's restaurant in the BP station the previous evening.
