Woman killed by husband's coffin
A Brazilian woman has died after being struck by her husband's coffin when a hearse was involved in a car crash.

The 67-year-old woman was on the way to the cemetery to bury her husband, reports the BBC.

The hearse was struck from behind by an Alfa Romeo car, police said.

The coffin slammed into the head of the woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the hearse, killing her instantly, according to officers.

... I don't think I'd really mind dying once my husband is gone. Unless I had something to take care of. That would be so lonely.

Agreed. I can't imagine wanting to live much longer without that special someone that has been there by my side... I've heard of an known of many older couples who both die within months of the other dying. This case just makes it seem like the deceased was yanking the wife over to the other side. What a way to die. I can't decide if it is a romantic or comedic.

I have to agree with you both on that.
If my spouse had died, I don't think I'd want to stay much longer.

What Admin had mentioned is actually what happens with animals as well. When one dies, the other tends to die soon after from being lonely/losing it's will to live. That's what happened to my lovebirds and my friend's bunny :/

It's both sad and scary to think of how death can effect us emotionally and physically.

That's one way to join your husband in the grave I suppose. Look at it from the bright side, now their children won't have to pay for two individual funerals, they'll drop them both in the same hole and be done with it. Much more economic!
